There is no form to feeling. Untitled and manifested in amorphous sensations that ripple through the currents of consciousness. The persistence of form by Raza, an evocation of emotion by Ram Kumar or the exuberant vastness of landscape by Ganesh Haloi relays the formlessness within a coherent reverie of their art. The exhibition strings together a narrative that ebbs and flows through the ages - from the 1960s, 1970s to the 21st century. This exhibition attempts to trigger a dialogue between abstractionists of different generations and experiences by making the energies of the artists’ visible on the canvas.
 
The thirteen artists selected for the show are seekers, travellers and chroniclers of their memories, emotions, and opinions. While Zarina Hashmi’s art is a dialogue of diaspora, nostalgia, memory, borders, and home; Jeram Patel communicates through forms that are magical, mysterious and dramatic. This exhibition, though places art in a collective inter-generational set-up, goes beyond the confines of eras to give an experience that is lyrical and reminiscent of artists’ separate personalities. Arpita Singh, Piraji Sagra, Homi Patel and Jagdish Swaminathan use the intangible eloquence of the post-colonial times to give their art and thoughts a tangible frame. In contrast, artists Sathi Guin, Bhagyashree Suthar and Subir Hati take their realities of the contemporary to create new approaches on the canvas. Each artist represented in the exhibition echoes their cerebral thoughts, feelings, and gestures onto a corporeal surface using materials that provide a form to the abstract.
